ExcelSense Technologies was pleased to welcome Mr. Allan Najam, Consul General of Chile in Vancouver, to its Richmond headquarters for an official visit focused on strengthening collaboration between British Columbia and Chile in advanced industrial vision technology and sustainable mining.

The visit highlighted growing opportunities for cooperation between Canada and Chile, two countries at the forefront of mining innovation, particularly in the areas of automation, safety, and high-performance sensing technologies for demanding industrial environments.

Addressing the Demands of High-Altitude and Remote Mining Operations

Hosted by the ExcelSense executive team, discussions centered on the growing demand within the Chilean mining sector for rugged, maintenance-free, self-cleaning cameras and LiDARs. As a global leader in copper production and high-altitude mining operations, Chile presents significant opportunities for advanced industrial vision solutions.

The delegation explored how ExcelSense’s technologies, designed to perform reliably in harsh, dusty, and remote environments, can help mining operators:

  • Improve worker and site safety
  • Reduce equipment downtime and maintenance costs
  • Enable advanced automation and remote monitoring
  • Increase operational efficiency in the most extreme environments

These capabilities are increasingly important as mining operations move toward greater automation and data-driven decision making, often in locations where access for maintenance is limited.

Strengthening Canada and Chile Technology Partnerships

“Chile’s mining sector is continuously advancing, and technologies like those developed by ExcelSense align closely with our national priorities of sustainability, automation, and safety,” said Mr. Najam. “We see strong potential for collaboration between Canadian innovation and Chilean industry.”

Chile’s commitment to modernizing its mining sector and improving environmental and operational performance makes it a natural partner for Canadian mining technology companies focused on long-term resilience and innovation.

Demonstrating Self-Cleaning Cameras and LiDARs for Industrial Use

During the visit, the Consul General toured ExcelSense’s research and development and production facilities and received a technical demonstration of the company’s patented self-cleaning cameras and LiDARs.

These systems are engineered to withstand extreme heat, dust, vibration, and other challenging environmental conditions commonly encountered in mining operations throughout the Andes and other remote regions. By eliminating the need for manual cleaning and ongoing maintenance, ExcelSense’s vision systems support continuous operation and reliable performance.

Supporting the Future of Sustainable Mining

“We were delighted to host Mr. Najam and introduce him to our technology,” said Nima Nabavi, Founder and CEO of ExcelSense Technologies. “Chile is a global leader in mining, and we see significant opportunity to contribute to the country’s next generation of safe, efficient, and intelligent operations.”

The visit underscores ExcelSense’s commitment to expanding its international presence and delivering made-in-B.C. industrial vision solutions to mining markets across Latin America and around the world.

As global mining operations continue to evolve, ExcelSense remains focused on developing reliable, maintenance-free vision technologies that help operators meet today’s safety, sustainability, and productivity challenges.
